Information for Parents
There is hope! Children of all ages usually respond well to art and play therapy as well as to some kinds of conversation. Therapy can give your child the tools to have better friendships, get better grades, and be a happier member of the family. When working with children, it is vital to have time with you, the child’s parents, so you can learn parenting strategies that will set your child up for success.

How to Get Started

bullet Step One—You contact me either through e-mail or by phone
bullet Step Two—We briefly discuss your situation so I can evaluate whether or not my services meet your needs, and you can ask me questions and get a feeling about whether or not I’m the right counselor for you
bullet Step Three—We make an appointment or I refer you to other appropriate services
bullet Step Four—We meet for initial consultation/assessment and getting to know each other and do the necessary paperwork. At the end of this session I’ll give you my recommendation about how often we should meet and for how long. First meeting takes about 1 ½ hours.
